Python Job: Head of Product for a fintech start up

Overview

As their first product management leader, you will have the monumental task of working with the founder to transform their product from a great investing app to a billion user fintech platform with the full relentless support of their team, management, and investors.

You will own the planning and execution of their core product end to end, while working closely with the founder, senior management and the team. You will work relentlessly to ensure the product gets to product market fit and beyond. You will build a world class consumer product organization and be obsessive about creating magical user experiences for any and all investors globally. You will attract the best product talent, build a rigorous hiring pipeline, and make dub’s product organization known as best in class.

You are also excited to push the boundaries of the known world and seek to break the norms. You are maniacal at delivering results and know how to wield the soft and hard influence required to guide the team to delivering ambitious features on time. You are a hard worker who leads by both example and speech.

Location: You can work out of our office in NYC (preferred) or potentially remotely wherever you are in the United States.

Compensation: Competitive market comp. You'll also receive an extremely generous amount of equity.

The Role

Responsibilities

Product Focused

• Get to product market fit repeatedly across all current and future products
• Lead early product function by operationalizing product efforts and building foundational product processes
• Make Revenue and high ROI driven product decisions which align with company strategy and timeline
• Define, track, and communicate key product metrics via dashboards, reports, and data manipulation with Engineering team
• Define customers, develop strategy to validate each customer persona, and decide on which customers are company/product priorities
• Empower Marketing and Sales teams with the product knowledge required to make releases and growth successful
• Craft, execute, and iterate product launch and go to market strategies
• Ensure product launches are on time and meet defined requirements
• Spearhead new product development and driving product focus
• Ensure and validate quality of new product and feature releases

Team Focused

• Facilitate cross department product collaboration with Engineering, Compliance, Marketing, Sales, and Operations
• Lead and own roadmap planning (and its successful implementation) for the company across all product lines based on company vision and strategy
• Lead planning for short and long term product initiatives with senior management team
• Create and lead customer experimentation function by gathering and iterating on internal and external feedback with Engineering team
• Build pipeline and hire product managers, engineers, and designers
• Temporarily support leading engineering and design teams at the Company
• A passion for finance and breaking down barriers for the regular human

Qualifications

• You’ve led teams and personally taken products from 0 to 100 and product market fit repeatedly
• 7+ years leading and scaling product teams of 10+ team members
• You’re able to show obsessive customer focus and relentless hustler mindset
• You have project management experience and keeping internal teams on track
• You’ve had an engineering and/or design job experience at consumer or fintech company
• You have domain knowledge of investing, money movement, wealth management, and consumer behavior / psychology
• You've worked in consumer focused fintech or investing companies
• You have strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills and experience operating in regulated product industries and operating within constraints
• You have strong recent data analytics skills including tools like SQL, Python, Tableau
• You have a demonstrated history of attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent
• You're deeply passionate about finance and investing
